Zoom Meeting

Zoom is a cross-platform used for creating video calls and meetings. It is available on different subscription plans, but you can use the basic plan for free. The simple and intuitive interface offers an effective setup for virtual meetings, webinars, and conferences as well. 

The feature-pack conferencing tool has flexible integration for multiple devices i.e. Android, iOS, desktop PCs, and Mac. 

Enhanced Interface

The entire setup is simple and easy to use. After launching the app, go to the main screen, and click on the Home tab. It will allow you to perform multiple tasks such as Join a Meeting, Start a New Meeting, Schedule, Share Screen, and so on. The icon with a large size can easily be understood and allows you to easily access your favorite option within one click. If you want to know about the meeting schedule, click on the Meetings tab. 

When you click on Join a new meeting, you will be directed to a new screen. All meeting controls exist at the bottom of the screen, and the participants of the meeting can be seen at the top of the screen. In the middle of the screen, the main project is visible to the person who is managing the meeting.

Virtual Background

You can edit your virtual background as you like such as conceal or blur the camera's background. Click the Profile menu to open Settings of the app and set your background and filter by selecting the image you love to use as the background. The feature is reliably used with specific PC specifications; otherwise, it is better to use the green screen for promoting your background image. 

Collaboration

Zoom was published with the idea of communicating between individuals informally. But now it has become a standalone app, and even large companies prefer it to other such tools for the flexibility of workflow. It offers multiple amazing features such as sharing your screen to collaborate your content easily. The call quality is amazing and crystal clear. 

Zoom Conference Call Requirements

As mentioned, Zoom has become one of the most important ways of creating meetings and conference calls between multiple people. If you want to participate fully in Zoom meetings, your device should have the connectivity of speakers, headphones, a microphone, and a webcam. All the dives allow you to attend any meeting with audio/video functionalities. 

It is better to use a wired headset if you are hosting a meeting for increased audio quality while decreasing audio distortion. Moreover, Bluetooth devices can sort out connection issues, increase latency, and allow your Zoom app to run even on a low battery. 

The Basic Zoom Plan

Zoom offers the basic free plan for users with the addition of multiple features such as adding 100 participants in meetings, in a grid-style view 49 people can be visible, making calls for 40 minutes, and the one-on-one video call has not any time limitations.  

In the free version, there is no limitation for creating meetings, but you will miss the basic management controls, administrative controls, reports, etc in the free version. Likewise, the capability of storing your Zoom meetings on cloud storage is also possible. 

Support Multiple Browsers

There is no browser restriction for the Zoom app, so you are free to use any of the following web browsers; Edge 12+, Firefox 27+, and Chrome 30+ for Windows. Safari 7+, Firefox 27+, and Chrome 30+ for macOS, and use Firefox 27+, and Chrome 30+ for Linux devices. One thing to bear in mind, you may have to face some feature-missing issues with different browsers. 

After completing the installation process, you need to follow the given steps to complete the login process.

• Click the Zoom icon from your desktop, and launch it.
• Click on the sign-in option, and next on SSO.
• Don’t insert details in the main email and password boxes if your account is UCL.
• Insert your UCL in the company domain field.
• Click on the Continue option.
• You are directed to the UCL sign-in page.
• Click on the Zoom meeting to open it.
• Enter your UCL username, and password, and click on the sign-in option.
